Impact of alcohol dependency on oral health: A cross-sectional comparative study

Excessive alcohol consumption can adversely affect oral health, including the oral cavity, oral mucosa, and teeth. Studies have indicated that individuals with alcohol use disorder may have an increased risk of dental caries, probing pocket depth, and mucosal lesions.

To further understand the impact of alcohol use disorder on oral health, a cross-sectional clinical comparative study was conducted. The results revealed a higher prevalence of dental caries, periodontitis, and mucosal lesions among participants with alcohol use disorder.
